Mawdesley Juniors FC has been awarded the highest accolade of FA Club Charter Standard.

The FA Charter Standard Clubs initiative, in partnership with FA Community Partner McDonald’s, was inaugurated in February 2001. Its primary objective is to establish benchmarks for coaching, administrative practices, and child protection within clubs catering to young athletes. The Charter Standard Scheme serves as the definitive blueprint outlining these benchmarks.

The FA is dedicated to elevating the quality of grassroots football in England, with the goal of inspiring greater participation, skill development, and enjoyment of the game in a suitable environment, stating that; “Clubs that become Charter Standard will be taking part in a genuine grassroots revolution. Every club should be aiming to meet the Charter Standard.”
